We loved our dear friend of over 50 years and will miss her! We met in 1967 when we all worked at Central Islip State Hospital. We had lots of fun together and have many wonderful memories. My husband always says "she is so down to earth, a real friend". She was so sweet & cheerful, she always made you feel good. We remember when we all got our first new sports cars. I think Ellie's was bright yellow Camero. I had an MG, Bill had a Firebird & Kathie had Mustang ( I could have mixed them up, but we all pared next to one another.). We also remember the old house she lived in in Miller Place next to the duck pond. We were all so grateful to see her on one of her visits to Florida.
She will be always be remembered as a dear friend & wonderful person. Our prayers for her family.
With lots of love,
Barbara & Bill Burns
From the day you introduced yourself to me when I moved in next to you, you were comforting to me at a stressful time in my life, and in the 3 brief years I knew you you became a dear friend. My daughter Bri and my granddaughter Jordyn consider you their friend after they moved in with me and had the privilege of getting to know you.
Little Jordyn always wants to bring flowers to ‘Ewees’ house and it saddens my heart to know you won’t physically get them but it makes my heart happy that she had the chance to know you.
I will miss you so much but I will cherish our friendship forever!
Rest In Peace my friend.
