LANG - David R.
Of Buffalo, NY, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019 with family at his side. Born January 25, 1952 in Pittsburgh, PA, to Elmer S. Lang and Jean (Baticki) Woods of Oil City, who survives, he served his country in the U.S. Army as a cryptologist in the Vietnam War. He later spent 25+ years in Tidioute, PA, and 10+ years in Lakeland, FL, before moving to New York state to be closer to family. He worked for years in the automotive field and then later as rural carrier. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and reading. David turned his love of collecting into a business in which he sold coins, comic books, and collector’s cards. He was a lifetime member of the VFW.
In addition to his mother, David is survived by his wife, Joanie Lang and daughters, Dawn Amber (Lang) Kinney and husband Jesse of Titusville, PA, Rebecca (Sneltzer) McMullen and wife Shannon of Liberty Hill, TX, Jen Reynolds and husband Joe, Ericka Kranking, & Rachael Gress and husband, Tony all of Buffalo, NY. He is also survived by multiple grandchildren: Damian, Jerod, & Brody Kinney, Gatton Sneltzer-Burk, Sammantha, Emily, Caralyn & Megan Reynolds and Xander Kranking. His sister (Diana Lang), brother-in-law (Paul Zofcin Sr.), multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. David was preceded in death by his father, sister (Carole Lang Zofcin), and step-father (Robert Woods). No calling hours will be observed. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
