Condolence: Today truly is a sad day. My heart hurts to think of how lucky I was to have known you for praticuly my whole life. As a child to me, you were larger than life, strict but kind. playful yet stoic. I have fond memories of playing fort in the wooden castle you build for Eric in the backyard or riding on your back as we made giant whirl pools in the swimming pool during summer cook outs. As an adult to me you were, a man of few words but the words that were spoken were well thought out, to the point and always full of intellect and a smidgen of sarcasm. Which I loved about you. Choose a game of any nature: Cards, Scrabble, Chess, Botchy Ball you knew the rules backwards and front. So that if we did beat you it was really "fair and square!" You were by far one of the smartest men I have ever met. Very well read and always up to date on current affairs.You seemed to know something about almost everything. I always got a kick out of your dry sarcastic humor . To some you could be quite intimidating, but I always found you to be warm, welcoming and interesting to say the least. I know I am among an elite group of very lucky people that had the pleasure of knowing you. I have some very very special memories that include you and your wonderful family. Michael you truly left your mark on this world. It shows in how many people have and will sign this book and how terribly you will be missed. Thank you for making my childhood so fun and memorable and for being someone I looked up to and admired as an adult. I am definitely better having known you. As is everyone who's life you touched.
