VAN WYK - Roger B. Of Akron, NY, May 10, 2020. Loving and devoted husband of 56 years to Susan A. (Williams) Van Wyk; dearest father to Corbin W. (Diane), Scott A. (Christina) and Nathan B. (Barbara) Van Wyk; grandfather of Sidney (Caleb) Lee, Vanessa, Christian, Evan and Stella Van Wyk; brother of Norm (Lois) Van Wyk; also survived by nieces. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the convenience of the family. Roger was born and raised in Sully, Iowa, where he married Susan Williams, on May 9, 1964 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Roger and Susan relocated to New York, in the late 1960's, settling in Akron, NY. Roger and Susan raised three boys in Akron, NY, while working at Strippit LVD, as a sheet metal machinist for many years. He enjoyed hobbies including raising fish, building and flying RCA remote controlled planes, and his most favorite of all was woodworking. He also enjoyed spending time with his family; and in his later years, going and watching his grandchildrens' sporting events.
