McCUTCHEON - Carol A. Carol McCutcheon died October 27, 2020 at the age of 78. She was born in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of Harriet and Norman McCutcheon. She is survived by her sisters, Rita Buckley and Mary McCutcheon, her nieces, Sarah Buckley (Kaplan Harris), Melissa Buckley (deceased) and nephew Nate Buckley (Shontae Cannon-Buckley). Carol loved the Florida visits with her grand-nieces Eloise and Nayeli. Carol sorely missed her beloved dog Freckles, her joyful companion who brought joy to everyone he met. Carol grew up in East Aurora, NY, surrounded by her many Shed Clan cousins and playmates. She lived her adult years in East Lansing, Michigan, where she worked as Webmaster for the Michigan State University, Department of Biochemistry. Her passion was breeding and showing award winning Abyssinian cats. Upon retirement she moved to Cozumel, Mexico, where she resided for 10 years before moving to Cape Coral, Florida. During her husband's life they had a part-time home on Sanibel Island and shared many happy years vacationing there. Carol loved the warmth, flora and fauna of the tropics. She was an avid nature photographer and dabbled in water colors. Carol was active in local and national politics and worked tirelessly supporting social and environmental justice. One of her favorite memories was meeting President Barack Obama. Carol was a friend of Bill W.'s for nearly 50 years. Carol recently returned to East Aurora, NY, at the request of her sisters because of her declining health. She spent her last weeks at Aurora Park Nursing Home and died peacefully surrounded by her loving family. A memorial will be planned at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined.
