Obituary of Elizabeth G. Miller

Miller - Elizabeth Grace (nee Glass) Of Williamsville, NY, on January 1, 2021, at age 97, entered peacefully into Heaven, surrounded by love. She was born August 9th, 1923 in Gowanda, NY as the youngest of twelve children. Following the death of her mother at the age of seven, she was raised by her brother Burt, and his wife Mary. Growing up on a dairy farm surrounded by family she was treated as royalty. In 1943, Liz graduated high school and continued on to earn a degree in Nursing. Her fairytale continued when she met her Prince Charming, Bruce, who came and swept her off her feet. While Bruce was serving as a Paratrooper during World War II, they continued to exchange love letters. Shortly after his return they were engaged and married the following year. The couple had four wonderful children and celebrated fifty-seven exciting years together. During their time, they traveled together, danced together, and enjoyed every minute they shared with one another. Following Bruce’s passing in 2003, Liz continued to feel close to him as she found dimes, he would leave for her (or her children) to find in her daily travels. The importance of family remained constant throughout the years as she happily looked forward to attending her annual family reunion. In recent years, as the matriarch of the family she continued to recall old family stories and enjoyed seeing photos of growing children and families. Well into her 90’s Liz kept in touch with beloved family and friends through handwritten letters, in her unforgettable cursive penmanship. A woman of many names, Mom, Grandma Liz, Ba Liz, Aunt Bussie or Mrs. Miller to name a few, was cherished by so many. Undoubtedly, her one true love, Bruce, was patiently waiting her arrival at Heaven’s Gates to dance in eternity with his sweetheart. Liz is survived by her children, Linda (Mike) Brown, Ron (Maria) Miller, Debbie (Rick) Bossert, Donna (Don) Johnson; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. No prior visitation. No services will be held at this time to respect the safety of all in these difficult times. The family politely requests that any donations be made to Hospice Buffalo or to a charity of your choice in her memory. Arrangements by: ERIE COUNTY CREMATION SERVICE, (716) 824-6435, 873 Abbott Rd., Buffalo, NY 14220. Please share your condolences at: www.ERIECOUNTYCREMATIONSERVICE.com
